National Board Certification 2022-2023

National Board Certification - New Candidates

National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools. It was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide.  While teacher licensure systems set the basic requirements to teach in each state, completion of National Board Certification signifies that teachers have voluntarily gone much further. NBCTs have developed and demonstrated the advanced knowledge, skills and practices required of an outstanding educator.  Standards for each content area and developmental level are created by teachers, for teachers.

All 2022-2023 classes will be online. To find out more information about National Board Certification, visit www.nbpts.org.  The registration form can be downloaded hereThe Class HUB with information including class dates, times, zoom links, etc. can be found here.

National Board Certification - Maintenance of Certification (MOC - formerly known as "renewal")

This course supports National Board-Certified teachers (NBCTs) through the MOC process. Through review of the Five Core Propositions, Standards for Teaching, three types of writing, theories of leadership, and best practices within content areas, NBCTs create their Profile of Professional Growth and submit it to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and extend their National Board Certification for five years. The class will meet five-six times throughout the year with the goal of uploading in May.  All classes will be held on Mondays from 4:30-6:30 pm and will be recorded.

Complete instructions for MOC can be found here. Registration form is here.

The NBCT MOC Hub with information including class dates, times, zoom links, etc. can be found here.
